Farsund-Norway.com This site started in 2003. It was started for fun and family. Since weather is so hard to predict in this area, I started a weather link page for myself, so I could compare the various weather forecasts before planning the weekend boating or diving. My friends started using it as well. The webcam was added in 2003 and has been running around the clock ever since. The Domain Farsund-Norway.com was purchased in August 2005 mostly due to frustration in trying to avoid having anything to do with Telenor. It seemed like when we changed service providers, Telenor bought them. So, we kept getting a new web page address, with a user name not of our choosing, and always with a ~ symbol in the name. Try to find one of these fast on your keyboard. Now I am free to change providers whenever, and keep the domain. Being a gadget freak, I bought a Honeywell weather station in June 2007 and started collecting and sending data. Please note: the first full month of data and records is beginning July 2007. Farsund-Norway.com is a non profit site. We don't want to be one of those cheap ass sites that won't let you download pictures. Take what you want. We are proud of the place we live in. Please just give the author credit if passing it on and leave the watermarks in place. However, pictures are not for commercial use without expressed written permission from this site or the photographer or owner of the photo. Our long term goal is promoting Farsund as a vacation place for all, but focusing on Americans. Farsund is not a place that normally is found in vacation brochures in the U.S. We like you Germans, but why should you get to have all the fun. We hope to be supplying enough information to tourists in the future so they can plan their trip to Farsund. You might notice we point out quirks in Norwegians or Americans, or anyone else for that matter. No one is exempt. It's our differences that make this world so interesting. Relax. Have fun. Don't take life so serious. And send a note if you need help finding your way to Farsund. Sincerely, Webmaster@farsund-norway.com |
